\nQuantum Interconnect Based on Nanofiber Cavities Toward Distributed Quantum Computing<\/p>\n
\u25cf\u6982\u8981(Abstract):
\nQuantum computers may enable the simulation of complex quantum systems and the solution of problems beyond the reach of conventional computers. Building a large-scale quantum computer, however, requires controlling many qubits with extremely high precision. Rather than placing all of them in a single device, a promising alternative is to connect several smaller quantum processors so that they operate as one larger system. The central challenge is to transfer quantum information between processors with high fidelity and high rate. Photons are natural carriers for this purpose because they can travel through optical fibers with low loss. To realize such photonic links, at NanoQT we are developing quantum interconnect using ytterbium atoms trapped in optical tweezer arrays and coupled to telecom-band nanofiber cavities [1]. Our specially designed nanofiber cavities enhance atom\u2013photon interactions while providing direct compatibility with optical-fiber networks [2]. In this talk, I will introduce the underlying principles of cavity-assisted entanglement generation between remote qubits [3], describe a system architecture that supports scalable, error-corrected quantum computing [4], and discuss our recent hardware progress.<\/p>\n
