報告:Dr. Delahaye滞在(Prof. Franck Delahaye, LERMA – Observatoire de Paris)

大阪大学レーザー研での実験の為Observatoire de Paris よりDr. Franck Delahayeが来日されました。

In order to participate to the on-going research on Solar composition, trying to solve a long standing problem (17 years old), the experimental approach is crucial at this stage. In 2019 a very fruitful collaboration between Pr. Fujioka-san ’s group at I.L.E., LULI (France) and The Paris Observatory (France) started to propose some solutions. We had decided and proposed to develop a platform to measure stellar opacities. Our first campaign, unfortunately, was planned during covid lockdown and I could not join. But for the second campaign I had the pleasure to come in person at I.L.E. from January 14 to 25, 2023. I could really enjoy the warm welcoming from the team as well as the attentions from miss Kurisu-san to make my journey safe and easy.
Being a theoretician I could not apprehend all the hard and difficult work necessary to run an experiment campaign like this. All the long hours and intense involvement from Pr. Fujioka-san, Jinyuan-san, Dr. Tatiana-san, Dr. Farley-san and all the laser team lead to intense exchanges and discussions trying to solve problems and understand the conditions of the experiment. The first analysed results to come will help to pave the way to the next campaign and to the proper opacity measurements platform at I.L.E.
I also had the pleasure to present the context of the opacity work I am conducting, as well as my recent results, during Pr. Fujioka-san’s Group Meeting. It was the occasion to meet more people and learn about the research conducted within this research group beside the opacity work.
I had a chance during this trip to discover some excellent restaurants. To name some I would choose Tori Soba (I discovered it in 2019 during IFSA conference) and Ototo (which I just discovered thanks to Pr. Fujioka-san).
